(letter dated 19 September 2000)
Dear Friends and Fans of Kingsbard:
Believe it or not, here comes our new CD, entitled "Come Hame"! Some of you (and some of us) were wondering if it would ever get done. There are 11 exciting new tunes on the recording (over an hour's worth of music), including some never heard before.
I am really delighted to announce that in every way this new recording surpasses not only our previous CD, but even my own expectations coming into this project: Davie Harris has done an exceptional job getting the best sound out of every instrument and every mix, the musicianship has been great and the message comes through loud and clear. Richard Katz is putting the finishing touches on the graphic design--a real work of art! Can you tell I'm excited?
Our release date is Sunday, November 19th. We are holding a catered reception from 2:30PM to 5:30PM at West Valley Presbyterian Church (6191 Bollinger Road, Cupertino), by reservation only, during which time we will have the first airing of the CD, as well as several other surprises. If you are interested in attending, please see response card for details. At 6:30PM at the same location we will hold our release concert, open to the public with no admission charge. We hope to see you there at both events!!
This final process we are now entering, duplicating the music and the art is our most expensive. I would like to ask those of you who share our vision for completing this project as quickly and as debt-free as possible to consider pre-buying CD's. I intend to send quite a few as Christmas presents and would like to encourage you to as well. Pre-buying the CD's will save you $1.00 per unit as well as helping us out in this final push.
Please see all the details of the release party/concert as well as purchasing options on the enclosed card with SASE. Just fill it out and send it to us along with a check for anything being prepaid. If you have friends interested, we would appreciate you passing on the word. This information will be available on our web site as well (address listed above in heading) along with any updates as they occur.
I will see you all on the 19th of November, and on behalf of the rest of Kingsbard--thank you for your support and enthusiasm during this project. I am confident that you will find it all worth the wait.
Sincerely,
David Duerr for Kingsbard
